About Reason Studios
Reason Studios (formerly Propellerhead Software) is a music-software company based in Stockholm, Sweden, founded in 1994 by Ernst Nathorst-Böös, Marcus Zetterquist and Peter Jubel. Its flagship Reason DAW models a virtual rack of instruments and effects that users wire together with patch cables, and can run as a standalone DAW with recording, sequencing and mixing or as a VST3 plug-in inside other hosts. Earlier products such as ReBirth RB-338 and ReCycle helped popularise virtual studio gear. The company rebranded from Propellerhead to Reason Studios in 2019 and was later acquired by LANDR (Montreal), continuing to operate from Stockholm under its own brand.
