About Oura Ring
Oura Health Ltd is a Finnish health-technology company founded in 2013 in Oulu by Petteri Lahtela, Kari Kivelä and Markku Koskela, with the first Oura Ring crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2015. The smart ring uses infrared LEDs and skin-contact sensors to capture heart rate, HRV, body temperature, respiratory rate and movement, and sends the data to a companion mobile app that scores Sleep, Activity and Readiness. The current Oura Ring 4 introduces "Smart Sensing" for improved accuracy and comfort. Oura has shipped more than 2.5 million rings, was on track for ~$500M revenue in 2024 and signed a $96M US Department of Defense supply deal in October 2024.
