u-he is a Berlin-based audio software developer founded in 2001 by industrial designer Urs Heckmann as a one-man operation, now a small team plus contributors. The company makes virtual instrument and effect plug-ins (VST/VST3/AU/AAX) for Mac and Windows, best known for the Zebra2 and Diva synthesizers and the Repro vintage emulations. More recent work covers wavetable synthesis (Hive 2), physical-modelling effects (Twangström) and Eurorack hardware (CVilization). u-he plug-ins are widely used in film, TV and electronic music production, sold direct from u-he.com with both perpetual licences and free utility plug-ins.
