About Parship
Parship is a serious-relationship online dating service founded in 2000 and headquartered in Hamburg, Germany; it went live on Valentine's Day 2001. The matching algorithm was developed with University of Hamburg psychologist Hugo Schmale and is based on a personality questionnaire whose principle is "as many similarities as possible, as many differences as necessary". Free membership covers registration, the questionnaire and seeing other profiles without photos; Premium (roughly €30-60 per month) is required to message contacts and exchange photos. Profiles and texts are manually checked. Parship is part of ParshipMeet Group, majority-owned by Germany's ProSiebenSat.1.
